Frequently asked questions
The things people ask before they get in touch.
What does it cost to work with you?
Nothing. Insurance carriers pay a commission when you enroll in a plan, and the premium is the same whether you enroll through an agent or directly with the carrier. You are not charged a fee for the review.
Do you represent every plan available?
No agent does. We are appointed with a number of carriers and we will tell you plainly which ones, so you know the edges of the comparison you are being shown. You can always compare against every plan in your area at Medicare.gov or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE.
When should I contact you about Medicare?
About three months before you turn 65, or as soon as you know when employer coverage is ending. Earlier is better — some of the windows have penalties attached that never expire.
I already have a plan. Is there any point in a review?
Often, yes. Plans change their drug formularies and provider networks every year, so a plan that fit you last year may not this year. Reviews happen in the fall, before the December deadline.
Do you handle anything besides Medicare?
Yes — life insurance, health and dental coverage, long-term care, and annuities. Medicare is simply where most conversations start.
